Legend:
The Sorg Opera House in Middletown was built in 1891. It showed opera until 1915, when it switched to movies. In 1985 it was changed back into a stage theater. At some point the second of the two balconies was hidden behind a false ceiling, and remains up there, just the same as it was back in the 1930s, when it was the colored section. The theater's original owner, Paul J. Sorg, haunts the theater in his 1890s formal clothing. Witnesses who have seen him there identify him by a portrait which hangs in the theater lobby. He was an incredibly wealthy man, locally known as "the last of the robber barons," and he built the theater for his young wife, who was in love with drama and opera. Early on, Bob Hope performed here. Footsteps are the most common occurrence here, along with the sighting of Sorg's ghost. He paces backstage and on the catwalks overhead. Another ghost belongs to a black man who is supposed to sit in the closed-off balcony for every performance, despite the fact that a ceiling blocks his view. The technical people who work at the theater leave programs for him sometimes. In the Ballroom behind the theater on the 4th people have seen a lady in a blue dress of another time period. As recently as 2008 a Christian rock band was getting ready to play a gig. The drummer of the band went into the hallway and in front of the elevator was the lady in blue. He started talking to her and she walked towards him. He did not know the stories about her and she, well, she vanished when she got to him. He completely lost it and ran out of the building never to return.

Personal Experiences:
EVP's on the catwalk, footsteps and various banging in the ballroom area, 2nd floor balcony EVP's, Unexplainable EMF Readings were noted in Basement area Backroom. Zack felt what he described as someone moving his hair, EMF Reading was 2.0 gauss, & subsequent picture did show an orb. Also in the Ballroom around the Stage, Left Side in the closet of the room there was a Reading of 1.6-1.9 gauss with No Source. Finally, in the Game Room Todd followed a Reading of 6.0-6.2 gauss from one side of Room towards the front of Room where it then just dropped back to 0. Other Phenomena which was noted was also in Ballroom around Stage area. Several Noises were heard, as well as a creepy feeling accompanied with goosebumps by 3 different Investigators. The Catwalk area also experienced noises, a knocking or cracking noise during EVP Session. Finally, in the Game Room, back corner in between last two pool tables, I experienced what I firmly believe was a touch or brush of energy on my left upper arm. I noticed no flying bugs, no hair or clothing. I cannot explain this and the feeling I got after this happened reassures me that this was some kind of phenomena. Right after I got touched Todd took an EMF Reading & this was were the initial 6.0 gauss reading was found & then followed to front of room.

INCONCLUSIVE

Comments:
We had a local film crew with us as well as the local paper. We spent a lot of time working with them so we are going back on 4-19-08 to have the place to ourselves and conduct a more thorough investigation.
